MB wants village heads to submit reports online

Sunday Star June 8, 2008

KUALA TERENGGANU: Village headmen in Terengganu will soon have to submit reports on the development of their respective areas online to enable swift response to villagers' requests.

The state government plans to equip all the villages with computers to enable the village headmen to instantly send information and requests from village folk.

Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said instructed all assemblymen to allocate funds to the Village Development and Security Committees under their purview to facilitate the procurement of computer sets.

“The management of villages here should go cyber and all reports submitted can be attended to at once with such facilities,” he said after the graduation ceremony of village headmen who attended computer courses here on Friday.

Ahmad said all data and information pertaining to the villages should be stored in the computer so that the headmen could manage their tasks professionally.
